Title track. I love the fake live shtick. I adore the opening guitar. I love the sound of their voices. I can’t imagine how confusing all of this must’ve been when it came out. How many people heard this song out of context and didn’t know it was the Beatles? I mean, their voices are distinctive but at the same time so distorted on this track. Anyway, I digress. Title song is perfect.
With a Little Help - That transition into this is magic. Actual magic. Wizardry.
I love the call and response. The naughtiness of “get high”. “what do you see when you turn off the light? I can’t tell you but I know that it’s mine.” So lovely.
This is a great song.

LSD - Love this one. The lyrics are perfectly trippy without dipping into the bad part of the trip, with dead dogs’ eye goop and all that. The 3 kick drums intro to the chorus? Genius.

Getting Better - Fantastic. Optimistic Beatles are my favorite Beatles. I love the back up part, “It can’t get no worse” - just this tiny bit of reality creeping in. (I’m just going to roll right past the admissions of domestic violence.)

Fixing a Hole - Like.

She’s leaving home - eh.

Mr Kite - OK. It’s interesting.

Within You Without You - I mean, just the height of their Indian stuff. Also, I love tambura. In anything.

When I’m 64- adorable. We’ll just skip over the rigid gender roles. When I was much younger, I thought it would be really cool to have three kids and name them Vera, Chuck, and Dave. Love it.

Lovely Rita. OK here’s a confession. I think when I was younger I had a crush on Rita. I could not love this song more.

Good Morning. I like all the changes. You just can’t relax. I guess this song wouldn’t be so great if you wanted to relax.

Reprise- I mean… better than it was at the beginning of the album, and that’s saying something.
A Day in the Life - Woah. I mean, I definitely know the song from like a million movies. But it goes so well on this album. The song is great. Epic. What a way to end an album. And then that surprise ending that was such a big deal on records, but neeeeeever worked on CD where you could see the track time blinking at you. I loved little surprises like that.
